Frequently Asked Questions
Is the race affiliated with the CRANDIC Railway?
No. The RUN CRANDIC name salutes the history of the railway that connects Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. No portion of the race is run on current or former tracks of the CRANDIC line. Any train imagery used in promotional materials is for nostalgic reference only. We appreciate the CRANDIC Railway and its parent company, Alliant Energy, for their cooperation in allowing us to use the term for our historic Cedar Rapids to Iowa City run that raises money for the local school districts.

Why are the 5K and 10K races referred to as “5Kish” and “10Kish”?
In order to cleanly close the loops on the trail from Big Grove Brewery to the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, the course had to be just a bit longer than exactly 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. Since they are fun runs, we took some liberties and decided to refer to them in a different way.
How do I keep updated with RUN CRANDIC powered by University of Iowa Community Credit Union and pre-race training runs?

If medical attention is required on the race course or at the finish line, medical staff is available to treat minor injuries and provide basic support. Insurance liabilities mandate that should a participant require and consent to an IV for fluid replacement or treatment of serious injuries, they must be transported to a local hospital at their own expense.
